Ahead of next week’s primary election, a presidential aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief Bola Tinubu, has claimed that without his support, President Muhammadu Buhari would have lost the 2015 election.

Speaking to APC members in Ogun State on Thursday, Tinubu stated that, ‘If not me that led the war from the front, Buhari would not have emerged as the president. He contested first, second and third times, but lost. He even said on television that he won’t contest again.

He continued; ‘But I went to his home in Katsina, I told him you would contest and win, but you won’t joke with the matters of the Yorubas.

‘Since he has emerged, I have not been appointed Minister. I didn’t get a contract.

‘This time, it’s Yoruba’s turn and in Yoruba land, it’s my tenure.’

Tinubu went on to appeal to the 60 delegates in Ogun to support him during the APC primary election.

Africa Daily News, New York recalls that President Buhari has appealed to governors of the APC to assist him in picking his successor.

Tinubu had recently guaranteed that if elected, he will restore the country’s economic prosperity, tranquility, security, and political stability.

Mr. Bayo Onanuga, his Director of Media and Communication, said as much in a manifesto titled ‘My Vision for Nigeria’ signed on Friday.

Tinubu pledged to make Nigeria the pride of Africa if his presidential aspiration becomes a reality in 2023, according to a statement highlighting his five-point agenda.

Additionally, according to the statement,’Tinubu also promised to create six new Regional Economic Development Agencies, which will establish sub-regional industrial hubs to exploit each zone’s competitive advantage and optimise their potential for industrial growth.’

Meanwhile, Ondo State Women for Tinubu, an APC women’s organisation, has implored the party’s National Chairman, Abdullahi Adamu, to ensure fairness and allow party representatives to vote in the presidential primary for their favorite candidate.
