Former Vice President and candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar has bemoaned the recurring national grid collapse in the country.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate put the blame the President Muhammadu Buhari-led All Progressives Congress (APC) government.

In a statement Monday night, Atiku lamented the darkness that has enveloped Nigeria in recent times.

The political leader described it as a metaphor for the collapsing state of the nation.

He said the country has been enduring collapsing unity, security, economy, education, well-being and value of human life and dignity.

Atiku urged Nigerians to likewise collapse the ruling APC via the ballot in the 2023 general elections.

The PDP standard-bearer urged citizens to “enthrone a viable pathway for the New Nigeria that will be united and stable, prosperous and awash with opportunities; secured and inclusive.’

Meanwhile, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has claimed that the candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) Bola Ahmed Tinubu has no chance of defeating its presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, in the 2023 general elections.

Africa Daily News, New York had earlier reported that Tinubu had clinched the presidential ticket of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in a primary election which was held at Eagles Sqaure in Abuja on Tuesday night.

In a statement signed by the spokesperson of the opposition party, Debo Ologunagba, the PDP said Tinubu had clinched the ticket ‘at a very great price.’

It described the APC as ‘a fraudulent contraption that brought in the failed, corrupt and rudderless administration of President Muhammadu Buhari.’

‘Our Party also sympathizes with Asiwaju for embarking on a journey to nowhere as he is no match for PDP’s more popular, more competent and more prepared Presidential Candidate, His Excellency, Atiku Abubakar the unifier and the people’s choice, who defeated President Buhari fair and square in the 2019 Presidential election,’ the PDP said.

‘Asiwaju will soon realize that Nigeria is not one of his acquired estates or fiefdoms and that the Nigerian people are not his political string-puppets and retinue of lackies, from whom he bought the APC Presidential ticket.’

Meanwhile, Tinubu has announced that he bears no grudges or grievances against anyone, not even those that do not support his ambition.
