A Presidential aspirant on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu on Wednesday, asserted that party would remain intact after its presidential primaries contrary to widely held insinuations.

He made this disclosure while addressing State House Correspondents shortly after a meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari.

Africa Daily News, New York reports that the APC National Leader had met with Buhari behind closed-doors at the State House last night.

Speaking after the meeting, Tinubu disclosed that Buhari was committed to a transparent democratic process despite rumours making the rounds.

According to Tinubu: ‘We are sure that we will remain united. You know our symbol is the broom, you don’t break it as you go.

‘Nigeria requires commitment, a uniform system and a stable country and that is the only way we can be very proud of Nigeria.

‘The president has shown a great example of leadership. He has given us the freedom to say you want to run, you want to attempt, go ahead.

‘He is a democrat and if we are running a constitutional democracy, you don’t hinder the desire, the wish of other people.’

Africa Daily News, New York reports that although the agenda of the meeting between the president and the national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) could not be ascertained, it was not unconnected to his Presidential ambition.

Recall that Tinubu had last Friday picked the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential nomination and expression of interest forms at the APC’s national secretariat in Abuja.

James Faleke, a member of the House of Representatives, representing Ikeja Federal Constituency, picked the forms for APC national leader, who had since informed the president of his presidential ambition, in 2023.

Folake was accompanied by former Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Babachir Lawal and hundreds of members of the Tinubu Support Groups (TSG) to the party’s secretariat.
