Police Arrests 3 Dowen Students Over Sylvester Oromoni’s Death

Three students out of the five who allegedly assaulted late Dowen College Student, Sylvester Oromoni have been arrested, Africa Daily News, New York has learnt.

Hakeem Odumosu, Lagos state commissioner of police confirmed the arrest on Tuesday.

Recall that late Sylvester Oromoni had before his death named five students who beat him up in school.

The incident led to the death of the student on November 30, 2021.

Odomosu said the students in custody are assisting the police in their investigation.

Recall that the Management of Dowen College has expressed its readiness to assist the Lagos State Ministry of Education and the Nigerian Police Force in unraveling the cause of the death of its 12-year-old student, Sylvester Oromoni.

Africa Today News, New York recalls that Oromoni’s death became public knowledge after a family member, identified as Perri, posted about the incident on social media.

Last week Wednesday, a family member alleged that the Junior Secondary School 2 pupil died from the injuries he sustained during an assault by fellow students who wanted to initiate him into cultism against his wish.
