The President, in a statement on his official Twitter account, disclosed that the only thing he has in common with Obama is the honour of firing Jim Mattis, the world’s most overrated General.

Trump described the former US Secretary of defence as the most overrated general.

“Probably the only thing Barack Obama and I have in common is that we both had the honor of firing Jim Mattis, the world’s most overrated General. I asked for his letter of resignation and felt great about it.

“His nickname was ‘Chaos’, which I didn’t like and I changed to ‘Mad Dog’.

“His primary strength was not military, but rather personal public relations. I gave him a new life, things to do, and battles to win, but he seldom ‘brought home the bacon’.

“I didn’t like Mattis leadership, style or much else about him, and many others agree. Glad he is gone!”

Trump made the comment after the former US Secretary of Defence on Wednesday criticised him for dividing the American people.

Mattis described Trump as “the first president in his lifetime who does not pretend to try to unite the American people”.

“Instead the president tries to divide us,” Mattis was quoted as saying by the CNN.

He mentioned that the protests being held in most cities in the US is the consequence of Trump’s three years of the deliberate immature effort.

“We are witnessing the consequences of three years without mature leadership. We can unite without him, drawing on the strengths inherent in our civil society,” he added.

Trump has been greatly critiqued for his controversial comments on the protest held across the country over the death of George Floyd.
