ISWAP Insurgents In Military Uniform Abduct Travelers In Maiduguri

Islamic State’s West Africa Province (ISWAP) on Tuesday, abducted five travellers along the Damaturu-Maiduguri Road.

The incident occurred at about 3pm at Tamsukau in Kaga Local Government Area of Borno State. The town is about 7 kilometres from Ngamdu, where the Super Camp of Armed Forces is located.

The criminals were reportedly dressed in military uniforms, set up a checkpoint and stopped vehicles.

The terrorists took the wheels, drove off but later released the vehicles and some passengers, holding on to five.

A military source told PRNigeria on Wednesday that the attack was suspectedly carried out by Abou Aseyia.

‘Aseyia was recently appointed as the Ameer Fiya (Chief of Militant forces) in charge of Sambisa Forest’, he said.

Intelligence recently uncovered an ISWAP plot to smuggle in military uniforms purchased from Libya.
