So, bro, how is the arrangement going on for the weekend bash?
RAY
Honestly, man! I have cancelled every plan for that.
KEN
Tell me you’re kidding bro.
RAY
Jokes apart, I’m serious.
KEN
Why? What’s your reason?
RAY
What’s the point of throwing a bash when your best pals won’t be there? It’s useless, you are not gonna be around.
KEN
Ray, you have to understand, I really need to take this new catch to Obudu Cattle Ranch and spoil her silly this weekend please try and understand.
RAY
But you told me earlier on phone that you would be going to your family house for a lunch date with Ngozi, is that not gonna work out again?
KEN
I had to cancel it man! Let me go where I will catch some fun, I don’t have the energy to sit for long hours and listen to moral instructors.
RAY
Wait a minute bro, it appears your mum has come to like Ngozi, what do you think?
KEN
Your guess is as good as mine but who wouldn’t like the babe anyway? She’s beautiful, educated and well mannered.
RAY
Yea! I know she’s got good feminine qualities but ken, on a serious note, why don’t you marry her?
KEN
I’m not ready man! Besides I don’t want her to infect me with her religious fanaticism as her friend did to Dan.
RAY
But ken, seriously, Dan has changed completely, I was in his office yesterday, he didn’t even offer me any drink unlike the Dan, I used to know that could hardly stay off alcohol for a split second.
KEN
I told you, he says he’s a new man now.
RAY
But Christianity, I mean this born again stuff, does it really pay?
KEN
I wish I could answer that question.

Thank you pastor and right now, I have this inner joy in me that keeps reverberating every minute of the day.
PASTOR DAVID
That’s the holy spirit for you, immediately one accepts Christ as his Lord and personal savior God sends him or her the holy spirit; he gives you peace that flows like a river, directs and leads you so that you wouldn’t live your life by trial and errors, he stays with you forever but sin drives him away, so, my brother, endeavour to fellowship with the Holy Spirit all the time because the more you do, the more you develop hatred for sin. You understand me, brother Dan?
DAN

PASTOR DAVID
Right, also the bible says we shouldn’t forsake the gathering of the brethren, always ensure that you’re present in church services because the teachings of the word of God, certainly will build your faith.
DAN
I will Pastor, I wish I had done this earlier.

It’s never late for you brother Dan. The most important thing is that you’ve given your life to Christ and right now you’re saved. Do you understand me?
DAN

The DUO of NGOZI and RITA sit in the FORMER’S OFFICE discussing.
NGOZI
My dear, God really works wonders, who ever believed that one day, Dan of all people would give his life to Christ?
RITA
Honestly, I’m really surprise. I couldn’t believe it when I saw him respond to the altar call on Sunday.
NGOZI
That’s God for you, my sister, always working in mysterious ways.
RITA
My dear, I just hope he’s not doing it to impress a sister in church.
NGOZI
No! I don’t think so, the Dan, me and you used to know wouldn’t go this far because of a lady.
RITA
You’re right; I think I have cause to believe you now. After fellowship in church yesterday, when he was coming out of pastor’s office, he met me and sincerely thanked me for inviting Ray to church that God actually used that avenue to save him. I believe he’s a changed person now.
NGOZI
Truly, he is and I pray that God touches his friends as well.
RITA
Obviously, only God can actually change those ones. Ray has been avoiding me like a plague unlike before when he was all over me simply because I wanted him to be closer to God.
NGOZI
My dear, don’t bother yourself much about that because when God decides to take over, they will have no other choice than to surrender to him.
RITA
So, how’s ken?
NGOZI
He’s there, still his old self. His mum says, she’s inviting me over to their house for lunch with him this weekend.
RITA
That’s nice, she’s inviting her prospective daughter-in-law for lunch, hope you’ll honour the invitation?
NGOZI
You’re not serious, any way; let’s wait till weekend.
RITA
Make sure you don’t miss that lunch date, girl. I got to leave now, I just dropped by to say hello to you, I was actually on my way to see a client.
NGOZI
