The federal government has said it would continue to pursue the ease of doing business policy with diligence to keep solving the problems of operating environment, boost productivity and encourage investors.
Vice President Yemi Osinbajo stated this yesterday in Port Harcourt during the unveiling of the Port Harcourt Dockyard Liquid Waste Treatment Plant.
The Guardian gathered that $8 million was invested in setting up the facility, which would help clean up the maritime industry by collecting oil wastes and transforming them into meaningful by-products.

Osinbajo said the project is in line with the Build, Operate and Transfer Agreement between African Circle and the Federal Government and would last for 20 years, adding that Africa Circle has, by the completion of the facility, executed a good part of the agreement.
He said that the federal government would continue its partnership with Africa Circle Pollution Management Limited for the promotion of environmental protection and sanitation, saying the unveiling is another opportunity for Nigeria to lead the way in the improvement of the environment, assuring that the federal government’s ease of doing business policy would be diligently pursued.

Governor Nyesom Wike pledged to support Africa Circle Pollution Management Limited to create employment opportunities for Rivers people and urged Osinbajo to prevail on the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) to work with the state government to create the right environment for the development of the state, regretting that the NPA has not been good neighbours to the state government.
Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Transportation, Sabiu Zakari, said the federal government would give the company all the necessary support in the spirit of ease of doing business policy.
A former Ogun State governor, Chief Olusegun Osoba, said that the facility would collect oil waste and transform them into meaningful by-product, while a former head of state, Gen. Abdulsalami Abubakar (rtd) said the company is a necessary addition to the maritime sector.(The Guardian)
