The Director General of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governors’ Forum, CID  Maduabum, has revealed that speculations making the rounds that the Chairman of the forum and Sokoto State Governor, Aminu Tambuwual has resigned from the position were untrue.

Maduabum made this known in response to enquiries about the news making the rounds, especially on social media that Tambuwual had resigned and was appointed Director General of the 2023 PDP Presidential Campaign Council.

Speaking in a similar vein, the PDP National Publicity Secretary,  Hon. Debo Ologunagba said, ‘It is not true as at this time, I have no information that he has resigned and if he has resigned, I will be in the best position to know.

‘Right now, there are procedures for resignation that’s why when the BoT chairman resigned it was communicated to me and I released it to the public.’

Meanwhile, the Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, have vowed not to relent in the fight for the return of a healthy party structure that will guarantee an even representation as far as the interest of the North and South in the national leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is concerned.

According to the governor, the current leadership structure as presently constituted with the North holding the presidential ticket as well as the national chairman positions was against the constitution of the PDP and a gross injustice against the South.

Wike made this known while speaking at the inauguration of the Ahoada Campus and staff quarters of the Rivers State University, which was performed by the Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, on Thursday.

The current hierarchy of the PDP, Wike said, did not give room for the interest of the South, particularly when decisions were to be taken.
