Aide To Oshodi LG Boss Killed, Investigation Launched

Report reaching Africa Daily News, New York is that an aide to Oshodi local government chairman, Oguntulu has been reportedly killed. This was revealed by the Lagos State Police Command, on Sunday, as they stated that prompt steps were taken to apprehend the assassins who killed Francis Oguntulu, Deputy Chief of Staff to the Oshodi-Isolo Local Government Area Chairman, Kehinde Oloyede.
On Friday, Oguntulu was reportedly shot and attacked with an axe; this happened at Adeyemi Street, Oshodi area of the state. He pass away on Sunday due to the gunshot wound he sustained during the unexpected attack.
The LG boss disclosed this in a statement signed by his media office on Sunday.
The council chairman, while bemoaning Oloyede, said, ‘We have lost a loyal, jovial and everly friendly man to the cold hands of death. The death came to us as a rude shock. We appeal to the Lagos police to unravel the cause of his death and ensure those behind the dastardly act are brought to book to serve as a deterrent to those planning evil acts.’
‘As we mourn Goke, I appeal to our party men and women and all residents of our dear council to remain calm as we have asked the police to investigate the matter. We will never leave any stone unturned in this case. We will work hand in hand with the police in the course of their investigations to unmask those behind the act.’
When reached, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the state police’s public relations officer, told reporters that the case was under investigation and that the culprits were currently on the run.
He said, ‘He’s dead. There’s nothing we want to do about the situation but to investigate it and that’s what we have started doing. We are making efforts to get the suspects who are on the run now.’
Prior to his early death on Friday, August 19, 2022, the deceased held the positions of Deputy Chief of Staff and Head of Anti-One Way Taskforce during the previous Council’s tenure.
