Mike Ogiasa, the cousin of the former Nigerian President Goodluck Jonathan, who had been recently abducted  has stirred up reactions after a video of him in captivity was released. He had been crying out for his life from a shallow grace which had been filled with dirty water where he was dumped by his abductors.

The viral video which had been posted on social media recently saw Ogiasa, the former Bayelsa State Commissioner pleading for his life from the den of his abductors.

The video showed the victim’s head covered with a dirty nylon bag as he pleaded for his life with his legs tied. The nylon was later removed from his head for his face to be shown.

The abductors had probably filmed him in pain and agony and released the video on social media.

Ogiasa was seen crying: “Is the money that is there more important than my life? You are seeing me in the grave, please do everything possible to come and release me.

“Every money that is available, any money that you can make, do everything possible to come and release me, is the money more important than my life? Is the money more important than my life?”

It has also been reported that a Catholic priest serving in Benue State, Rev. Fr. Peter Amodu, was on Thursday evening kidnapped by some yet-to-be-identified gunmen sparking panic in the area in Benue State.

Fr. Amodu, who hails from Agbaha Otukpa in Ogbadibo Local Government Area of Benue State, was said to have been kidnapped on yesterday, along Okwungaga-Otukpo highway.

Sources from the area who spoke to reporters on Friday morning pointed out that nothing had yet been heard from him or his abductors concerning his whereabouts almost 24 hours after his abduction.

A statement signed by the Diocesan Chancellor, Catholic Diocese of Otukpo, Rev. Fr. Joseph Aboyi Itodo, confirmed the incident, saying it happened at about 5pm, on Wednesday, while the priest was going to perform his sacred duty.
