After much speculations on the issue, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu who is the Presidential candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has finally settled for Senator Kashim Shettima, the former Governor of Borno state, as his running mate.
Bola Tinubu’s action is coming after the withdrawal of his running mate, Ibrahim Kabir Masari from the race.
The APC candidate had openly made the announcement of the choice of Shettima on Sunday in Daura, Katsina state shortly after paying a Sallah homage to President Muhammadu Buhari.

Bayo Onanuga who is the Director of the Media and Communication Tinubu Campaign Organisation had also revealed that Senator Shettima, the new running mate is former Governor of Borno State and a close associate of Tinubu who has been a staunch supporter and campaigner for the choice of Tinubu as the next President of Nigeria.
“He toured many states with Tinubu since December 2021 where he addressed party delegates and mobilized support for the former Governor of Lagos State”, he added.
