Osun: Buhari Promises To Attend Oyetola's Final APC Rally

The Nigerian President, Muhammadu Buhari has openly hinted that he might be attending the grand rally for the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the Osun governorship election which would be holding next week.

President Muhammadu Buhari made the disclosure when he received Governor Adegboyega Oyetola and party leaders on Wednesday. The President had done the ceremonial presentation of the APC flag to the candidate to wish him much success.

The Nigerian leader had also assured that the party was committed to furthering the development journey of Osun. He commended Oyetola for serving the people in his first term in office, adding that he is confident that APC would.

Buhari hailed co-chairs of the Governorship Campaign Council, Governors Babajide Sanwo-Olu and Abdullahi Ganduje, as well as the vice chairman, Governor Abubakar Bello.

“I wish you the best of luck”, said the President.

On the invitation to participate at the Grand Finale of the rallies, he replied, “I hope I will make myself available to boost your morale.”

APC Deputy National Chairman, Abba Kyari, who presented Oyetola, commended the President for leading the party to victory.

In attendance were APC National Secretary, Senator Omisore and Campaign Council Secretary, Ahmed Aliyu, the gubernatorial candidate in Sokoto.

The Ooni of Ife, Ooni Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi while reacting to the upcoming Osun State gubernatorial elections has assured that traditional rulers across Osun State are definitely prepared and ready to assist the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to achieve a credible gubernatorial election in the State come July 16, 2022.

Ooni Ogunwusi had also pledged that the monarchs in the State will be neutral during the political exercise.

The monarch, who is the permanent Chairman of the Osun State council of Obas, had also given the assurance during a meeting with the INEC Chairman, Mahmud Yakubu and traditional rulers across the State on Tuesday in Ile-Ife. While maintaining that INEC has a lot to gain from its association with the monarchs, he explained that the traditional institution remained critical in nation building as the closest to the people.
