The Oyo State Executive Council in a new directive has expressly approved the award of the contract for the remodelling and restructuring of the Oyo State High Courts and Magistrates’ Court Complexes in Ibadan at the estimated pegged cost of ₦6.01 billion.
Prof. Daud Sangodoyin who is the Commissioner for Public Works and Transport in the State had made this known while briefing some of the newsmen at the end of the weekly State Executive Council meeting in Ibadan.

Sangodoyin said, “The contract to be handled by the RTD Thompsons, will involve construction of an Amphitheatre and a Conference Theatre, also remodel all the court rooms at both courts and do some some external works in the two places.”
He had also reiterated that the contract, which would be executed through the Alternative Project Funding Approach (APFA) would be in two phases to be completed within 18 months.
The commissioner had also noted that the council also approved ₦683 million for the reconstruction of the 2.27 kilometres Sijuade Road, Jericho. He, however, said that the reconstruction would be through direct intervention from the State Ministry of Public Works and Transport, within an eight months completion period.
Similarly, The Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Mr Abiodun Oni had announced that the executive council had also approved the new waste management initiative to solve the problem of waste management in the state.
Oni said that the new waste management would be managed by Monttainai Recycling Africa and supervised by the Ministry of Environment and Water Resources.
In another report, the new addition of consumption taxes slammed by the State Government has seen the Oyo State Hoteliers Association of Nigeria kicking against the consumption tax.
The association expressed its misgivings in a communique issued in Ibadan on Tuesday at the end of its Board of Trustees meeting.
The communique was jointly signed by the association’s president, Chief Ayodele Ogundele, the vice-president, Chief Joseph Emoabino and Prince Adekunle Adesanya, the Public Relations Officer, and the Financial Secretary, Adetona Ibraheem.
