The quick intervention of security agents has been hailed for being the reason why what would have been a bloodfest was averted as the clash between natives and Hausa settlers in Jos North Local Government of Plateau State continues to escalate.

However, the clash left no fewer than 10 persons with different degrees of injuries.

Africa Daily News, New York gathered that following the intervention, an uneasy calm has pervaded the State following attacks launched in Bassa and Riyom local Government areas by herdsmen, which claimed many lives and left buildings burnt.

The herders also destroyed massive farmlands belonging to the natives.

Africa Daily News, New York gathered the prompt intervention of men of the Operation Safe Haven (OPSH) prevented the clash from degenerating into a bloody one.

A source close to the scene of the incident at Naraguta disclosed the Hausas in the early hours of Monday discovered a road was being diverted to a Muslim burial ground at Yelwa Zangam in the community and tried to stop those digging the waterway beside the cemetery.

It was gathered there was a serious altercation, which attracted other people within the community, leading to fisticuffs where ten people sustained various degrees of injuries.

It was further gathered the men of OPSH, who arrived at the nick of time saved the situation from degenerating into another blood fight and snowballed to the city.
