Russia reported 4,268 new confirmed coronavirus cases on Monday, taking the national total to 47,121.

The country’s death toll now stands at 405 with 44 new deaths reported.

On Sunday, Russia posted a record 6,060 cases and 48 deaths.

The new figures make Russia the 10th worst hit nation as the global cases hit 2,414,595 on Monday at 0900GMT.

The U.S. is the world leader with 764,265 cases and 40,565 deaths.

Also seriously affected by the virus are Spain, Italy, France, Germany, United Kingdom.

Turkey, China, Iran are also badly affected by the virus.
