President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday met the former president Goodluck Jonathan at the Presidential Villa, Abuja report said. This meeting is happening as he was asked to resgn over the worsened security challenge in Nigeria.

The closed-door meeting is the second to be held between Buhari and Jonathan in the last four months. It will be recalled that both met on 10th October 2019. The reason or outcome of the current meeting is unknown as both have refused to speak to journalists after the meeting the report said.

According to report the former president was said to have arrived Buhari’s office at about 1.45pm Thursday, shortly after the president held a National Security Council meeting with his service chiefs and some top cabinet members.

Buhari have received bash from Nigerians and International community owing to the worsening security situation in Nigeria as many Christians are being slaughtered by Boko Haram. The situation in Platue state have also worsened as many were killed and making the governor of the state, Lalong to order for the arrest of Fulani Herdsmen. Also bandits attacked Niger state few days ago killing 11 peaple and kidnapping some women after report emerged that Boko Haram is mounting roadblocks in Bornu state.

Owing to the increase in insecurity many have called for the presidents resgnation with senator Abaribe asking the president to resign for failing on his duty. His call was meet with backlash with attacking from the members of Presidents party. Many Nigerians commended the senator for showing courage.
