Subsidy: Osun Introduces Free Bus Rides, Adjusts Workdays

Ademola Adeleke, the Governor of Osun State, has announced that his administration will soon implement the following measures to mitigate the impact of fuel subsidy removal: The Introduction of free bus rides and the Adjustment of working days for public servants.

During the PDP stakeholders meeting at the party Secretariat in Osogbo on Friday, the Governor affirmed that the state government is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for the people in the state.

‘We (Osun Government) will soon introduce public transport buses. We are working on adjusted work hours and days. We want to make live easy and enjoyable for our people.’

‘This administration has been working in line with our election promises and the agenda of the party. We are implementing programmes and projects in education, health and infrastructures: what the APC could not achieve in four years, we have achieved in under seven months.’

‘We have positioned the public service, build roads, bridges and channelisation. We have commenced payment of salary and pension debt. I am assuring you that we will not relent to achieve our goal.’

Addressing the party stakeholders, the governor made a commitment to govern inclusively, emphasizing the importance of including and considering the needs of every individuals. His words: ‘We will all be accommodated. We will be fair to all. I appreciate your support then and now. This is your government. We shall all realize the fruits of our labour.’

Former Governor Olagunsoye Oyinlola, Osun Assembly Speaker Adewale Egbedun, and Senator Kamarudeen Oyewumi, in their respective comments, hailed the governor’s effective governance in a relatively short period, commending his dedication to delivering positive results.

Each of them highlighted the crucial role that loves, unity, and focus play in sustaining the state’s current success in quality leadership, urging party stakeholders to prioritize these values.

The meeting witnessed the presence of party stakeholders from all corners of the state, comprising elected lawmakers at both the state and National Assembly, along with party stalwarts at the local and state levels.

In his welcome remark, the party Chairman, Sunday Bisi, highlighted the purpose of the gathering, which was to promote unity within the party and ensure that the government remains focused on its people-driven agenda.
