Elon Musk seems to have finally had his big legal break in the sour deal as his lawyers had jumped on the revelations of a Twitter whistleblower which had been trying to force the social media platform to surrender some vast amounts of information for their fight to cancel the billionaire’s buyout bid.

Elon Musk’s lawyers had also told a United States judge thst the former Twitter security chief’s allegations of major security gaps and problematic practices had also bolstered their case, which has struggled for momentum in court.

It had been reported that Elon Musk had tried to back out of the $44 billion agreement with the excuse that Twitter had also misled him on the number of false or spam accounts, prompting strong denials and a lawsuit from the social media firm.

Musk attorney Alex Spiro cited repeatedly Twitter whistleblower Peiter Zatko in a 90-minute hearing on what data the firm should be forced to hand over ahead of their October trial.

“The way Mr Zatko puts it, management had no appetite to properly measure the prevalence of bot accounts,” Spiro told Judge Kathaleen McCormick in a court in the eastern state of Delaware.

Twitter won some early battles in the case, including a fast-track trial date, and its stock had risen as analysts have predicted the platform would prevail over the mercurial billionaire.

Yet Zatko’s whistleblower complaint to US authorities, which surfaced on Tuesday, has been seized upon by Musk’s attorneys to try to gain momentum in the case.

In another report, Elon Musk has finally served the former Twitter boss, Jack Dorsey with a subpoena which is related a hunt for material which would be helping him to get out of buying the giant social media platform for $44 billion as had been previously agreed.

Some of the records which had been made public had shown that Jack Dorsey had been served with a legal order which was stipulated to give Musk any communications or documents which are related to the takeover deal which had been inked in April, as well as all information touching on false or spam accounts or how Twitter calculates the number of its active users.

The subpoena would also be requesting for anything Dorsey has on the topics which are dating back to January of 2019.
