In a new confirmed security threat, the Lagos State Police Command has come out to announce that the state has been placed under a partial lockdown by some of the security agencies in the State after a fresh threat had been unvieled.

Abiodun Alabi who is the Lagos State Commissioner of Police had revealed that surveillance has been raised in due time due to the massive threat of attacks, he had also made the disclosure during the Lagos State Stakeholders’ Forum on Police Accountability (SFPA)’s quarterly meeting.

The CP on Wednesday had also assured that police officials in the State and other security agencies were ready for any intruders.

He was also quoted saying that stop-and-search at different places was part of efforts to apprehend likely attackers.

It has also been reported that there was a bit of turmoil in Lagos when over 200 irate youths on Wednesday had made an attempt to lynch two policemen in Ibeju-Lekki area of Lagos.

It was also reported that the police have to shoot one of them to save their lives.

It has also been gathered that a team of policemen had effected an arrest in Ibeju Lekki and on getting wind of the arrest, irate youths in the area moblised to rescue the arrested suspect. On getting to the scene, the police were said to have taken the suspect away and on returning back the youths were said to have sighted two policemen guarding a company and immediately descended on them.

They would have lynched them if one of them had not opened fire on one of the attackers as the others fled
