Yobe To Copy Hiroshima In Post Insurgency Recovery – Gov Buni

Yobe state Governor, Hon. Mai Mala Buni, has identified leadership determination, community resilience and timeliness as key to the restoration process of the post-insurgency recovery plan.
Hon. Mai Mala Buni, Yobe sated Governor has specified leadership determination, community stability and punctuality as fundamentals to the rehabilitation procedure of the aftermath of an insurgency-ridden society
He made this public on Monday during Matsuyama Kazuyoshi, Japanese Ambassador to Nigeria’s courtesy visit to him.
Mamman Mohammed, Director General, Press, and Media Affairs to Governor Buni in a press statement issued by him and made available to Reporters in Damaturu, the state capital said, ‘Governor Buni’s lessons learned from his Hiroshima study tour in Japan last week, will facilitate speedy restoration and recovery of facilities and communities devastated by the decade long Boko Haram insurgency in the state.’
‘Although the circumstances were different, but the methodology of committed leadership, resilience of the communities and timeline set up to achieve set targets are suitable for our post insurgency recovery.’
‘The determination of leadership and commitment of victims to restore and recover their lives serves as inspiration for us to achieve our set goals in Yobe state”. Governor Buni was quoted in the statement.’
According to the governor, Yobe government would reproduce the repair of facilities razed by the insurgency using the Hiroshima occurrence.
Governor Buni identifies education, healthcare delivery, agriculture, empowerment and employment among others as critical sectors to a reliable and sustainable recovery process and called for more support and partnership from the Japanese government.
Also, ambassador Matsunaya said Japan looks forward to a strong alliance with Yobe state government.
He pledges the support of the Japanese government to create job opportunities through the cultivation of cowpea.
Furthermore, the Envoy promised backings for food aid and enhancement of irrigation farming in the state.
