Musa Danyiska, a sociopolitical critic based in Kaduna and a former PDP chieftain in the state’s Kagarko Local Government Area, claimed on Tuesday that Islamization efforts were to blame for the country’s rising crime and banditry rates as well as the party’s decision to field a Muslim-Muslim presidential ticket.

Musa, a former lecturer at the Federal School of Statistics in Kaduna, claimed that some attacks were made with the intention of reducing the number of adherents of a particular religion for personal gain. He added that ‘in some states, we have heard of a governor supporting a certain religion more than the other.’

Speaking to Africa Daily News, New York in Kaduna after the distribution of relief materials to victims of bandits’ attack in Mararaban Kajuru, Musa further noted that when it comes to federal government appointment in ministries, MDA or heads of security agencies like; Army, Police, NSCDC, Immigration, FRSC, Customs, Navy, Air Force, a particular religion dominates as heads.

‘No Christian is appointed to head any security. Christians are left behind as second-hand citizens. This shows there are secret plans against Christians,’ Musa explained.

Musa, who wondered why Christians are left behind in the appointment into various sensitive positions in the country, said there are more qualified persons among Christian folks, yet because of Islamic agenda, they want to dominate every sphere of life.

‘Can you tell me that among all Christians in the country, no one is qualified to deputise the president? They want everything to go in Muslim way.’

Meanwhile, in its response to claims by US lawmakers, the Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC) has claimed that no fewer than 32,000 Muslims were killed within three years in Nigeria.

The director of the organisation, Ishaq Akintola made this claim yesterday at a media briefing in Lagos in reaction to the request by five US senators for Antony Blinken, the US secretary of state, to re-designate Nigeria as a country of particular concern (CPC).
