APC Presidential Primary FRSC Sends Out 1,500 Officers

Ahead of the presidential primary of the All Progressives Congress (APC) which is expected to commence later today, the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), has announced the deployment of about 1,500 of its personnel across the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, to prevent gridlock.
The Public Education Officer of the agency, Bisi Kazeem, in a statement which was made available to Africa Daily News, New York, revealed that the officials would work with other security agencies to enforce restriction of vehicular movement.
Kazeem further advised them to play active role during the exercise and exhibit highest sense of professionalism, ingenuity, and avoid any temptation that could lead to abuse of the rights of electorate.
He said: ‘To ensure that the Corps plays effective role to make traffic flow seamless, the Corps Marshal also directed the Deputy Corps Marshal in charge of the Department of Operations to activate the deployment of 1500 personnel of the Corps and 35 Vehicles including tow trucks, bikes, and ambulances to strengthen enforcement of restrictions during the entire process of the elections.
‘The Corps Operatives drafted to cover the Presidential Primary Elections have equally been mandated to clear obstructions from the roads, carry out rescue operations in case of emergencies, and maintain orderliness around the cordoned areas.
‘Personnel deployed must ‘play active role in the democratic exercise and exhibit the highest sense of professionalism, ingenuity, and avoid any temptation that could lead to abuse of the rights of electorate.’
Africa Daily News, New York had earlier reported that the Governor of Ondo State, Rotimi Akeredolu had earlier revealed that the party was very ready to carry on with the convention which is expected to climax with the announcement of a candidate for the party on Tuesday night.
