As goodwill messages and felicitations trail Pastor Kumuyi’s 81st birthday celebration, the Nigerian President, Muhammadu Buhari has joined Christians and Christian leaders all over Nigeria and beyond to celebrate with the Founder and the General Superintendent of Deeper Christian Life Ministry, Pastor William Folorunso Kumuyi, on his 81st birthday, June 6, 2022.

President Buhari felicitated the General Superintendent on the auspicious occasion, extolling him for his dedication to soul winning, preaching of the gospel, and counseling.

Buhari said the cleric’s works have transformed many lives and left an indelible mark on the growth of the nation.

A statement from the president signed by Femi Adesina said:

“The President notes the contributions of the Deeper Christian Life Ministry, which started as a Bible study group by Pastor Kumuyi, who was then a lecturer, to the spiritual and moral development of the country, with testimonies in education, health, roads, water supply and provision of scholarships to the less privileged.

“President Buhari shares the joy of another age with the octogenarian, his wife, Esther, other family members and friends, while acknowledging the inspiring influence of the many books of the Christian leader, especially the devotionals.

“The President prays that the Almighty God will continue to strengthen Pastor Kumuyi and his family in good health and wisdom.”

In another news, President Muhammadu Buhari is in deep shock over the “extremely horrific” gas explosion which occurred on Friday at a factory in Kano state.

In a statement issued on Saturday evening by his media aide, Malam Garba Shehu, the President noted that the tragic accident was the second in the city in a month.

About 201 residents of Sharada Quarters, Kano, were reported hospitalised after inhaling chemicals from a cylinder dismantled by metal scrappers.

Buhari said: “I am shocked and pained to hear about this tragic incident, so soon after the last gas explosion.

“Our brave emergency response agencies and medical workers are trying their best to save lives. We are in constant touch with the field workers and the hospitals.”

He commended the immediate response of the Kano State Government and the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development.

Also, he expressed appreciation to hospitals in the state, the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), State Emergency Management Agencies (SEMA) and the Nigerian Red Cross, for their support to the victims.

The president wished all the injured a very quick recovery.
