Imo SA Diaspora Demands Change In Gender Policies

On the 25th of May 2021, Governor Hope Uzodimma’s Diaspora face, seconded a motion to enable the architectural improvement of one of the  United Kingdom’s refuge centres used for women and their children fleeing domestic violence.

Some of the women who use this facility are actually Diasporans who have migrated from countries like Nigeria.

Cllr. Celia Osakwe-Hibbert has on various occasions, stated that “it’s key for developed countries to set the bar high as the ripple effect helps in changing some of the backward practices in countries like Nigeria”.

As an International Politician, Hon. Cllr. Celia Osakwe-Hibbert is well known for her advocacy in both gender and disability issues. She applauds Sen. Hope Uzodimma the current Governor of Imo-State for continuing to make positive changes in the area of ‘equality and equal opportunities.
