A medical doctor at the University College Hospital (UCH) Ibadan has tested positive for Coronavirus.

Gov. Seyi Makinde of Oyo state revealed this on his verified Twitter handle on Saturday night.

β€œThe COVID-19 confirmation test for one suspected case; a doctor at the University College Hospital Ibadan came back POSITIVE today”, Makinde said.

He said isolation and contact tracing have commenced.

The total COVID-19 cases in Oyo is 16. Active cases are eight.

So far, seven people infected with the virus have been discharged, while one patient has been transferred to Lagos
