The world, certainly would be a boring place without ladies, women make life more colourful, and very attractive, and this is evident in the way men often times lust, love and ceaselessly chase them. A woman compliments a man, and just as there are many different men so the things that attract them in women, equally differ.
Africa Daily News, New York, took out time to find out from quite a number of Nigerian eligible bachelors, if it is beauty or good character that they usually fancy more in women. Among them include; Mr Ojo Johnson, a Lagos based Chartered accountant on the subject, and he had this to say, “Basically, a beautiful lady attracts more men, we (men) always are moved by pretty girls, and even when the lady in question has bad character, you as a man tend to over look such negative side of her because there is something you love or admire in her. But for me, I like a combination of the two, beauty and character work for me. If you are beautiful, and lack manners, then I will avoid you, and vice versa.”

Another gentleman, Mr Obinna Kanu, a businessman, also based in Lagos, was asked what he liked most in a lady, and he responded, “For me, I prefer a woman with a good character, and business savvy. I consider it stupid to have a beautiful woman with bad character, such woman will always get on your nerves regardless of her beauty. But when she has a lovely character, even when she is ugly, you will see her as your beauty queen, and appreciate everything about her.” six other men that claimed anonymous equally endorsed Kanu’s assertion.
The third notably person, we spoke with was a senior public relations manager in one of the new generation banks in the country, that wished to be simply identified as Mr K, whom said he preferred a beautiful woman to any other thing, “Everyone has their good and bad sides, what actually matters is love, if a woman truly loves you, she will respect you and do your bidding not necessarily having a character like that of an angel. I want a very beautiful woman, who can really appeal to me, not someone that can’t give me some form of satisfaction. Having a woman with good character is wonderful but I strongly believes that it comes from love, and nothing more, there’s nobody that can be completely written off as a bad person. What matters is the person’s interest towards you.”
Though out of about a dozen men, Africa Daily News, New York interacted with, more than half of them were of the opinion that they preferred women with good character to beauty. Obviously, people have different choices for different reasons.
