It also recorded over 140 million streams on Audiomack, over 40 million streams on Boomplay and over 20 million streams on Pandora, making a total of over 1 billion streams on Digital Service Providers (DSPs).

‘Made In Lagos’ was certified Silver in the U.K, in the early months of 2022, after selling over 60,000 units and is now certified Gold in the U.S for reaching 500,000 units of sales.

The album has broken a plethora of records, including the first African album to make it to the Top 10 Billboard Hot 100 and also the record holder for longest charting African album on the Billboard Hot 100, with a record 72 weeks on the charts.

Africa Daily News, New York recalls that the hit song ‘Essence’ by Wizkid, featuring Tems which is off the Made In Lagos album had last year moved up to ninth on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

Essence entered the Top 10 of the chart in November making Wizkid the first African artist ever to have a song in the Top 10 Billboard chart.

The song had earlier emerged as the ‘most Shazamed’ song in the United States.

This new feat marks a remarkable achievement for Wizkid and Tems, who are signed to the same label and as well as for African music generally.

It is important to note that the song has been receiving wide acclaim since it was released off his fourth studio album, Made in Lagos in October last year.
