Mikael Silvestre who was a Former UEFA Champions League winner has picked Manchester United’s Cristiano Ronaldo as the right candidate to win the 2022/23 Premier League Golden Boot.
Ronaldo had finished third in the English top-flight’s goal-scoring race for the 2021-22 campaign. The Portuguese captain scored 18 goals and was beaten only by Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah and Tottenham’s Son Heung-min, who both scored 23 times, to share the award.
“Haaland, to win the Golden Boot? I would rather see Cristiano win it,” Silvestre was quoted by Express as saying.
“He was not far off last season with a dysfunctional team, so if United works this season, why not? Teach the young pup there is life in the old dog!”
He added: “With Harry Kane and Mo Salah, we have the best strikers in the Premier League, so whoever wins it will deserve it.”

Former Liverpool left-back José Enrique has also predicted and tipped that Mo Salah will win the Premier League golden boot next season..
However, the blockbuster signings of Darwin Núñez to Liverpool and Erling Haaland to Manchester City promise to shake up the league next season, with both scoring over 20 goals in their respective domestic competitions last year.
It came as a shock then, when Enrique took to Twitter to not just discount the existing talent but the new players too, by predicting Mo Salah to win the Golden Boot outright next season.

This will raise even more eyebrows around England as the ‘Egyptian King’s’ future at the Merseyside club is uncertain due to problems in the contract negotiation process between Salah and the Reds.
