The death toll from the collapsed three-storey building at Ebute Meta, Lagos, as of Monday morning has risen to five, the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) officials say.
An old three-storey building collapsed at No. 24 Ibadan Street, Herbert Macaulay Way, Ebute Meta, on Sunday night at about 10.56 p.m.
The Zonal Coordinator Southwest, NEMA, Mr Ibrahim Farinloye, said that the deceased persons included three males and two females.
The number of rescued occupants remained 23.
Rescue operations are ongoing at the site of the incident in search of four of the remaining occupants of the building.

Also, officials of the Lagos State Building Collapse Agency have begun the evaluation of the occupants of another three Storey Building showing serious signs of distress
The Zonal Coordinator Southwest, National Emergency Management Agency, Mr Ibrahim Farinloye confirmed the development on Monday in Lagos.
Farinloye said that the building is located at No. 100 Lagos Street, about 200 metres away from the collapsed three storey building.
βThe building has shown signs of distress with part throwing pebbles and falling off.
βThe building had also been marked as distressed but the occupants were deviant, Farinloye said.
