The PPRO explained that the measures were part of efforts to curtail security challenges and enhance public safety and peace in the state during the Yuletide.
The statement read, ‘Parents/guardians are advised to pay closer attention to activities of their children/wards.
‘Members of the public are urged to desist from engaging in jungle justice and to exercise restraint always.
‘They should endeavor to take any suspect apprehended to the nearest police station, as this would afford the police the opportunity to conduct appropriate investigation and bring them to justice.’
The PPRO restated that the state governmentβs ban on tainted vehicles and covered number plates subsisted.
He urged members of the public to report any police infringement by calling the commandβs dedicated telephone lines.
