Perhaps one of the lessons Nigerians would learn from Kyari’s present predicament is that the Federal Bureau of Investigation is miles away from the Nigerian Police force, unlike the Nigerian police who would forcefully effect arrests before want of evidence becomes their headache, the FBI on the other hand would have got the nude pictures of a criminal before even going ahead to inform same criminal that his or her house address is now known to them.

Kyari’s initial Facebook denial exposed him as an average Nigerian policeman who only latched on the mental laziness of Nigerians to manipulate himself into public consciousness, and promote opportunistically self-serving narratives about his unparalleled detective machismo when he clearly had no clear-cut crime fighting prowess.

For starters, it might be pertinent to explain that Kyari’s involvement was not a prediction or assumption, rather it was an airtight indictment that was only discovered by the FBI after a painstaking analysis of series of exchanges comprising messages and voice notes that were shared between the celebrated cop and the international fraudster over a period of time. Of all the dirt emanated from Hushpuppi’s phone.

The summary of the allegations showed that Kyari received monies totaling about eight million Naira from Hushpuppi in three different tranches through two Zenith Bank Accounts and a GTB account. The Bureau’s report further revealed that he illegally arrested Chibuzo Vincent on Hushpuppi’s instructions just to take him (Vincent) off the $1.1m fraud whose execution was already in advanced stages. With the extra judicial incarceration of Vincent, Hushpuppi was able to go ahead to defraud the victim of the said amount while sending Kyari’s team money for a ‘job’ well executed. From the surface, Kyari was already a member of the scam syndicate as he acted as an accessory or facilitator so to say.

Reading through the conversations between both men would naturally send a shocking wave of disappointment down the psyche of anyone that hitherto held the ‘Super Cop’ in high esteem. The new bitter reality is that with money, you can do and undo in Nigeria! How Hushpuppi became a commander of police, instructing and commanding the tragic hero of mediocre worshippers – Kyari, on who to arrest or not arrest, who to detain or not, who to release and who not to release would leave nothing but heart wrenching grieve on anyone that wants a better Nigeria. With money, Hushpuppy became the de facto Inspector General of Police to Kyari and he was so unapologetic about it. Could it be that the cop was hypnotised? Well, Kyari’s response already gave him away.

Reading Kyari’s reply is easily the worst thing any sane person would encounter this week, hear him; ‘He (Hushpuppi) saw some of my native clothes and caps on my social media page and he said he likes them and he was connected to the person selling the clothes and he sent about N300k directly to the person’s account. The native clothes and caps (5 sets) were brought to our office and he sent somebody to collect them in our office. Nobody demanded any money from Abbas Hushpuppi and nobody collected any money from him.’ Now, knowing fully well that the FBI has an eye caching reputation for being painstakingly thorough in their investigation, rushing to put out a denial without studying the whole documents under the confines of his lawyers simply showed that Kyari is not as thorough and detailed as he has erroneously made many Nigerians believe. Reading through the documents accusing him of links with an international fraudster and specifically stating that he used his overrated office to help the fraudster jail one of his estranged partners-in-crime in return for cash reward and still later putting up that piece of propaganda really exposes Kyari’s intellectual vacuity further. Maybe he suddenly forgot that he had the right to remain silent as anything he said could be used against him in a court of law.

Again, dividing Nigerians to create dichotomies was another crude tactic for the highly rated crime buster. Splitting Nigerians along faith, ethnicity or party affiliation is something politicians conveniently do just to stay afloat. To pose a response, the overrated cop managed to pick a line from a page of politicians’ playbook while moaning about haters, sensationalism and fake news. How petty!

In Kyari’s world, his office received a call from Hushpuppy (ordinary phone call, not a formal petition) alleging that someone (Vincent, his estranged partner-in-crime) was threatening his family and WITH NO INVESTIGATION, he went on to arrest the suspect using a phone number provided by the complainant. In other words, Kyari violated a man’s freedom based on a mere phone call which he made zero attempt to investigate beforehand. And quite sadly after investigation, he discovered there was no threat and that both the complainant and the suspect already detained at Hushpupy’s voice were longtime friends who simply had a disagreement over money. To understand it better, Hushpuppy simply provided Kyari with false information and sadly, no action was taken against him.

In conclusion, with a Deputy Commissioner of Police paid less than 200k monthly it would require great mathematics to explained how; Abba Kyari is building a gigantic and palatial mansion on Jemina road off Damboa, Maiduguri, a double gated house, first of its kind in that town and what have you? According to painstaking investigations it was discovered that he even offered to pay his neighbors 70 Million naira so he can have straight access to the main road from his own mansion. What would be the cost of his mansion if he can spend a whopping 70 Million naira to demolish the house behind him just to have a clear path?

Abba Kyari, in the wake of this allegation, must either prove his innocence or otherwise face the consequences for his sins should he be declared guilty. For the NPF, when a senior police officer was caught working for a rogue, helping him outwit his victims, it is diabolical. The rot is deep. Lastly, when a so-called ‘super cop’ is shown to be no more than a fashion police or designer, he really should be put out of his misery by sacking him without delay, just so he can continue with his other passions. He can as well consider setting up a courier service in US prisons if he ends up there, he has all it takes to be their Native Attire plug.
