Thousands of residents of Jalingo, the Taraba State capital, are now without a home after a massive flood swept across the town on Saturday.
According to findings by Africa Daily News, New York, no fewer than 300 houses were submerged by the disaster.
The flooding was the result of a downpour and the annual release of water from the Labdo Dam in neighbouring Cameroon.

Apart from residential buildings, the flood also submerged shops, vehicles, schools and worship centres.
Chairman of Jalingo Local Government Area, Nasiru Boboji, appealed to the Federal Government to collaborate with Cameroon for the purpose of alertingΒ residents whenever water from the dam is to be released.
