One of the easiest Psycho-Cultural attributes to discover about the Fulani oligarchy that currently runs Nigeria is her unforgiving disposition. For Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodinma; his actions have clearly shown that he is either stuck on Delusion or outrightly ignorant to believe that after his dirty involvement in bribery, issuance of dud cheques, diversion of funds, and other sundry embarrassing illegalities, playing into the good books of the Fulani would save him when the days get dark.

Uzodinma has always been a crook from birth; His love for crooked dealings and shortcuts has left everything he is or in possession of very questionable. Talk about a man who forged a university certificate and when questions were raised, quickly deleted his academic records from his profile. To even think that such a man is today the Governor of Imo State, a State that parades one of the most educated people in Nigeria is such a depressing thought to process. Stories of his involvement in defrauding a German of very huge sums of money is already everywhere. How he earned him the befitting status as a notorious criminal and fraudster is no longer news. His entrance into the morally bankrupt political scene in Nigeria even made it worse; ‘Abuja connections’ and his self acclaimed ‘Ben Johnson’ route has remained his mantra. For Uzodinma, cutting corners is a way of life; separating him from illegalities would put his fragile life in jeopardy.

Uzodinma is mostly ‘lucky’ with his fraudulent heists, his links with the Fulani cabal always provide him a loophole to exploit and stay afloat, however, he would not be so lucky with the popular Calabar dredging contract whose contract sum he brazenly embezzled during his stint as a Senator.

Uzodinma was the subject in a contract saga between his fraudulent Niger Global Engineering and Technical Company Limited and the management of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA). The NPA found itself in a forced and abusive business relationship with Niger Global Ltd in which the latter collected money (billions of Naira) from the former for contracts that were never executed. To be more succinct, Uzodinma took a handsome sum of $12.5(USD) million from the ports regulator to dredge the Calabar port channel and simply diverted the money for private use without remorse. He didn’t even stop there, he went further to use his position as a Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria as at then and also Chairman of Senate Committee on Customs to intimidate the Nigerian Ports Authority into paying his company a further $22(USD) million. What a man!

Governor Hope Uzodinma has always been a man of questionable reputation and character. The Fulani oligarchy noticed this and decided to draft him to do their bidding in Imo State. Foisting him on the State against the poor Imo electorates was never accidental, it was carefully planned. It was a deal that would have Uzodinma do the bidding of his slave masters while the ruthless cabal in turn offered him a temporal closure. To Uzodinma, the crux of the rendezvous was that he was going to be handed the keys to the treasury of the State to continue his manifest of a financial malfeasance. What the Omuna born politician has failed to understand is that the Fulani whom he now serves will throw him into a pit as soon as he becomes useless.

The Fulani cabal have often shown certain attributes which make them appear like good students of Joseph Stalin’s theory of exploitation and subjugation of the masses. They are always ruthless when they move and leave their victims no chance. If Uzodinma was smart, he would have remembered his erstwhile Godfather who played a pivotal role in bringing him into Douglas house. Where is Oshiomole today? The answer is simple; He had been used and dumped. All of a Sudden, the indicting petitions against Lagos landlord (Tinubu) is beginning to find their ways to the right offices in the Anti-graft agency, The Economic and Financial crimes commission. The examples are endless, former ‘Bring Back Our girls’ campaigner – Oby Ezekwesili, Sahara reporters publisher – Omoyele Sowere, Ejike Mbaka, and countless others are people who can tell better stories from their encounters with the cabal. Uzodinma would have found it more convenient to learn from their experiences but alas, he doesn’t care because his greed wouldn’t let him think.

Uzodinma has taken the dangerous route of alienating his people just to be in the good books of the cabal. How a governor like Uzodinma sleeps after inviting the military to kill his people in cold blood should be a research topic. The skirmishes that culminated in the festival of blood that we can now see across Igboland actually started in Orlu, his Senatorial zone where he had represented in the Senate for eight years. Without any attempt to understand what the issues were and fashion a modality for addressing them, Uzodinma’s first and last option was to invite the military into Orlu. To crush his people to please the Fulani.

Under him, the State has appeared so ungoverned that people now consider security a privilege that should be celebrated. He has simply embarked on a wild goose chase, politicising a very sensitive matter as the security of lives and property which is supposed to be his primary responsibility; day after day he thinks accusing his political opponents is the best excuse to offer for his crass ineptitude.

To please his lords and supremacists, the Supreme Court governor has continued to help them with their Islamisation agenda event at the expense of his people, in the heat of the provocation from marauding Fulani herdsmen that he has continued to invite to Imo State and assuring them of their safety; Little wonder he was absent from the meeting where southern governors unanimously agreed to ban ‘open grazing’ in the southern region but was available the next day in Calabar to receive Governor Ben Ayade into their coven – The All Progressives Congress (APC). To Uzodinma, the interests of his makers MUST be PROTECTED at ANY COST.

Almost every institution in Imo is now mired in crisis given Uzodinma’s penchant for war and failure in governance. He has balkanised all the communities, created conflicts everywhere by imposing different sets of community leaders who he wants to cower before his feet. The National Union of Journalists (NUJ) in Imo now has two factions, National Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ) has two factions, Β Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE) is in crisis, ISOPADEC at war and the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) in crisis because of his determination to muzzle all reasonable voices. Uzodinma does all this to create loopholes for himself to fritter funds from the State and keep her in perpetual agony.

Uzondima can only continue to delude himself in his delusions. The Fulani cabal cannot be pleased. They cannot be compensated and cannot be appeased. He should be reminded to keep his mind prepared because his heydays would soon be over and they would still come for him. No encounter with a beast, leaves one same.
