The Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, has approved the promotion of 82,779 junior officers to the next ranks.
The list comprises 56,779 Sergeants to Inspector, 17,569 Corporal to Sergeants, and 8,431 Constables to Corporal.
Force Public Relations Officer, DCP Frank Mba, made the announcement on Monday.
The spokesman said the promotion was part of ongoing efforts at boosting the morale of the workforce and for greater efficiency.

Those elevated include 86 junior officers impacted by the End SARS riots.
Sixteen who died got special posthumous promotion; 70 others injured were also lifted.
Adamu charged the personnel to rededicate themselves to their professional calling.
He enjoined them to continue to carry out their duties diligently, in conformity with best practices and respect for citizensβ rights.
The IGP added that the honour bestowed on the End SARS victims was a symbolic gesture in recognition of the ultimate price they paid in their service to Nigeria.
