The UN health agency gave the update on its official Twitter account on Saturday.
According to the tweet, COVID-19 has killed 2,600 people in the continent, while 29,000 people have recovered from the virus.

The WHO African Region COVID-19 dashboard showed that Algeria now has more coronavirus cases than Morocco, while South Africa and Egypt remain the top two countries with the highest reported COVID-19 cases.
Meanwhile, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has announced that anotherΒ 288 new cases of COVID-19 were confirmed in the last 24 hours, bringing to 5,445 the number of confirmed cases in the country as of Friday night.
