The three-time African champions started their qualifying campaign with a 2-1 home win against neighbours Benin Republic at the Akwa Ibom International Stadium, Uyo on Wednesday.

Musa played the last six minutes of the game, replacing Victor Osimhen who scored the opening goal for Nigeria from a spot kick.

Victory against Lesotho who held Sierra Leone to a 1-1 draw in Freetown on matchday-one will see the Super Eagles maintain top spot in Group L.

Musa admits that there are no minnows in football again, but assures that the Super Eagles are fired up for the game.

“Our target is to make it to Cameroon and it is a good thing that we started well with a win against Benin,”Musa told reporters before the team’s departure for Maseru early Saturday morning.

“Leostho are not one of the biggest names in world football, but we won’t take them for granted. They will enjoy the support of their home fans and be pumped up to beat us.

“We have what it takes to beat them and will go all out to maintain top position in the group.”
