Babachir Lawal, a former secretary to the government of the federation, has once more criticised the Muslim-Muslim APC ticket, saying that Christian leaders in Northern Nigeria will not waver in their support for justice, equity, and fair play.
He believed that any country or political system founded on injustice will fall because justice and equity resolve all other conflicts.
Lawal pleaded with Nigerians to comprehend the position of the Northern Christian politicians on the Muslim-Muslim ticket of the All Progressives Congress for the 2023 presidential election in a statement headlined, “Why we are doing what we are doing,” on Sunday.
In order to make peace with or appease the sentiments of northern Christian politicians, he claimed that neither Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, the APC presidential candidate, nor Kashim Shettima, his running mate, had seen anything wrong with the political party’s choice of a same-faith ticket for the presidency in the upcoming election.
We haven’t pursued reconciliation to yet because, in the first place, neither the APC as a party nor its presidential candidate have bothered to contact us about it, despite the fact that we first left our doors open for it.
‘Of course, there are certain ‘Christian’ traitors and ‘Judases’ who have rented themselves out as agents and detractors of this honourable Christian cause, motivated either by moral repugnance, poverty, or greed.

“I would like to suggest that this group read the biographies of Ahithophel and Judas Iscariot in the Bible. Take close note of how each person’s life ended.
‘It appears that Tinubu/favored Shettima’s strategy is to try to undermine our position by insults and funded bogus Christian organisations to give the appearance that there is disunity within the Christendom on this issue,’
They have become the punchline of jokes at church meetings across the nation, he added, proving that the tactic has failed.
This strategy has also shown the pair to be self-centered and pitiful, as well as exposing them to the world as having unfathomable flaws in their noble character, the author continued.
