2023 Ignore Candidates Quoting Bogus Statistics – Sanwo-Olu

Ahead of next year’s general elections, Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu has called on Nigerians to elect candidates capable of taking the country to greater heights not just the ones that are engrossed with statistics.

Sanwo-Olu told them to shun those who give bogus statistics, but consider flagbearers with clear-cut plans.

He spoke in Ikeja on Friday at a Special Prayer Session/Jumat Service to commemorate the 62nd Independence Day celebration.

Represented by his deputy, Obafemi Hamzat, Sanwo-Olu said APC candidate Bola Tinubu has the ability to sustain the nation’s economy.

We should look at who has access to the sources for businesses’, he was quoted as saying.

‘Nigerians should look at who has the ability to protect the integrity of our country by sustaining the military, training them well.’

The governor cautioned against using religion to cause distractions ahead of the 2023 general elections.

‘If we can put our lives in the hands of doctors without asking for their religion before surgery, why then are we doing otherwise now?’

Meanwhile, he Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu has called on party members in the Northeast to do more for him to ensure that he wins the 2023 elections.

He made this call in Gombe on Saturday when he spoke during the wedding reception of Misbahu Yahaya, son of Governor Inuwa Yahaya.

The former Lagos governor reminded APC followers that his running mate, Kashim Shettima, hails from the region.

Tinubu thanked party members and supporters for what they have been doing for him

‘Now that your son is equally the running mate you have to double your efforts, and you have to do more.

‘I challenge you to do more than what you have done in the past’, he was quoted as saying.

President of the Senate, Ahmad Lawan described the North-East as Tinubu’s second zone after the South-West.
