The Police Command in Plateau State has confirmed the abduction of a Christian cleric, Rev. Bung Dong sparking fresh fears in the area.
Africa Daily News, New York reports that Dong was kidnapped at Ganawuri community in Riyom Local Government Area of the state.
DSP Alfred Alabo, Public Relations Officer (PPRO), confirmed the incident to newsmen in an interview in Jos.
Alabo said Dong was abducted on Sunday night, alongside one James Mann who was later rescued.
Mann, Principal of Government Secondary School in Bum, is the younger brother of State Chief Judge, Justice David Mann.

The police have deployed operatives to track down the criminals and rescue the hostage.
Song Moro, President of Atten Youths Movement, said the captors asked for a ransom of ₦20million for the cleric.
Moro also disclosed that no fewer than four persons have been abducted in recent times.
He confirmed that Mann was rescued by members of the vigilante group in Ganawuri.
In another report, the inspector-general of police, IGP Usman Baba, has declared in emphatic terms that there was no threat to the 2023 general elections in the country.
The IGP made this declaration during the United Nations Chiefs of Police Summit (UNCOPS) in the United States of America and during his meeting with the assistant secretary, Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs, U.S, Todd Robinson.
Force PRO, CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, said this stems from the robust security threat analysis carried out using global best standards to ascertain the trend of expectations for the electioneering processes.
The Force PRO also stated that the inspector-general of police, in his quest to achieve improved policing services and bequeath an enviable policing system to the nation, has continuously interfaced with individuals and groups with requisite ideas and support-base for the achievement of his agenda of a modern Nigeria Police Force.
