2023 Atiku, Wike's Camp's Meeting Ends In Deadlock

Reports reaching Africa Daily News, New York is that the meeting earlier scheduled to bring about reconciliation between the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP) presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar and Mr. Nyemsom Wike, the rivers state governor which held yesterday did not reach any key conclusions. 
The committee which included members from Atiku and Wike’s camp had their meeting at the Government House, Port Harcourt.
Mr. Kelvin Ebiri, Wike’s media aide disclosed this in a message he made available to journalists.
Members from Atiku’s camp included Governor of Adamawa State, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri; Hon. Adamu Waziri and Hon. Eyitayo Jegede.
While representatives for Governor Nyemso Wike’s camp included former Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Mohammed Bello Adoki; Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State; former Governor of Cross River State, Donald Duke; former Governor of Ondo State, Olusegun Mimiko and former Governor of Gombe State, Dr. Ibrahim Dankwambo.
Following the meeting, which lasted for almost four hours, Fintiri addressed the media and said negotiations were still taking place to get the intended results.
He acknowledged the fact that Nigerians were patiently waiting for the PDP to unseat the All Progressives Congress in 2023 and free the nation from the poor leadership engendered by the present federal administration.
He asked Nigerians to be calm and be rest assured that the committee will eventually negotiate peace and bring the party and Nigerians together.
‘We are aware that Nigerians are anxious and waiting for the PDP to take over government in 2023.’
‘We have met as leaders, members of the same political family and we have opened the discussion, work is in progress and we will continue.’
‘At the end of the day, we will broker peace and we will unify the party and Nigerians,” Fintiri asserted.’
Mimiko added that the committee members’ decision to promote unity within the party would soon be manifested in her.
Mimiko also mentioned there will be another meeting scheduled to discuss further the possible solution to the issue at hand.
‘We have agreed that there is a need for us to enhance unity within our party.’
‘This is a reconciliation process, there are some issues out there which needs further deliberation when the committees meets again,’ he stated
During a meeting they had in Abuja a few weeks ago at the former Minister of Information and National Orientation, Prof. Jerry Gana’s resident, Atiku and Wike agreed to establish the committee as a part of the plan for resolving their disputes.
The committee members met with Mr. Nyemso Wike at his home in Rumueprikom located in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of the state.
