The meeting between the two Southwest political leaders was believed to be a consultation as regards to Tinubu’s race for 2023.

While reacting to this visit, Deji Adeyanju who is an Abuja-based rights activist, had also revealed that Tinubu’s visit to Obasanjo had indicated that politics is something else.

Adeyanju had also recalled how the APC presidential candidate once called Obasanjo an election rigger. He had also recalled how Tinubu asked Nigerians not to take Obasanjo seriously for criticizing President Muhammadu Buhari in 2019.

In a tweet, Adeyanju urged Nigerians against fighting themselves over politicians.

According to Adeyanju: “Tinubu who called Obasanjo an election rigger who should not be taken seriously when he criticized Buhari in 2019 today has spent hours with Obj consulting. Politics is something else.

“Don’t fight each other over politicians. They are not worth it. I know them very well.

“They are all extremely close friends and business associates. Go and hustle so you can tell them to their faces to Getat! There’s nothing they hate more than that.”

It has also been reported that the meeting which had been held between Obasanjo and Tinubu was behind closed doors at the former president’s residence in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital.

It has also be revealed that Obasanjo’s meeting with Tinubu may not be entirely unconnected with the former Lagos State governor’s presidential ambition despite the fact that they have been recently bashing each other.

Tinubu had been accompanied by the Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, former Governor Gbenga Daniel, and Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, among others.
