The real reason Nigerian music star, Kizz Daniel was arrested yesterday in Tanzania has been revealed after he was released by the Tanzanian police following some diplomatic interventions.

Africa Daily News, New York had earlier reported that Kizz Daniel was arrested on Monday after he failed to show up at his concert at the Warehouse, Old Nextdoor Arena, Tanzania.

The promoter of the show whose name was given as Steven while speaking on Instagram live with Daddy Freeze, alleged that the ‘Buga’ crooner refused to perform because his gold chain in his luggage was missing.

According to him, the airline failed to bring Kizz Daniel’s bag and he refused to wear any other thing to perform.

He went on to add that the singer is still locked up in Tanzania police custody.

Steven said: “Kizz Daniel is still locked up at the station, he said the airline did not bring his bag that had his gold chain that’s why he cannot perform.

‘Although he had another gold chain on his neck. I spent nothing less than $300,000 on that show. I had the contract with Paulo to bring Kizz Daniel for the show.

‘Paulo cried all night calling from America begging Kizz Daniel to perform at the show but he refused.’

Reacting, NiDCOM, in a tweet, revealed that the singer was being held at Oyster Bay Police Station Civil Police in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.

‘We are presently engaging our Mission and see what can be done. We will keep the public posted with our investigation. Thank you,” the Commission added.

Giving an update, NiDCOM said, ‘Kizz Daniel has been released. His legal team will, however, report back to the police tomorrow while he will subsequently return to Nigeria.’

Africa Daily News, New York reports that Kizz Daniel will be returning back to Nigeria in a matter of hours.
