Bwala last week joined the opposition party, the PDP.

Atiku in a statement by his media adviser, Paul Ibe, Thursday appointed the duo as his spokesperson for the upcoming presidential campaign. According to the statement, the appointments take immediate effect.

The statement partly read “Melaye is a politician and a member of the 8th Senate, who represented Kogi West Senatorial district. He hails from Ayetoro Gbede in Ijumu Local Government Area of Kogi State

“Bwala, on the other hand, is a legal practitioner, politician and public affairs analyst. He hails from Adamawa State”.

In another report, a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Senator Dino Melaye has asserted that the presidential candidate of the opposition party, Atiku Abubakar has an edge over other contestants in the race to 2023 because he has more experience.

Speaking during the public declaration for Atiku and induction ceremony by the Diamond Ladies in politics over the weekend in Abuja, Melaye asserted that there is no basis for comparing Atiku with the presidential candidate of the ruling All progressive congress (APC) Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu nor those of Labour Party, Peter Obi.

The former lawmaker who represented Kogi West in the 8th Senate asserted that Atiku and Tinubu are frontrunners for the presidential seat adding that Obi and the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) Rabiu Kwankwaso would not spring surprises at the presidential poll.
