In a fresh development, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, has charged Nigerian police officers and other sub-security agencies under the Police not to see the corps as a threat to them but rather as a partner in progress against the surge of crime.

Musa Alhaji Mala who is the Jigawa State NSCDC Commandant had made this assertion when he had paid a courtesy visit to Jigawa State Commissioner of Police, CP Aliyu Sale Tafida, SHQ office in Dutse.

He said the visit was aimed at cementing the existing relationship between the two sisters security agencies.

Mala, however, expressed his worry over the unfortunate conflicts that usually occur between police and NSCDC personnel.

“Under my watch, the unfortunate conflicts that usually occur between police and civil defence personnel will not be endured”.

“Most of the cases are engineered by junior ranks,” he said.

The State Commissioner of Police, CP Aliyu Sale Tafida, however, appreciated the Commandant for the visit and promised to work assiduously to ensure peace and security of the state.

In another report, Fasiu Adeyinka who is the Acting Commander-General (ACG), the Zonal Coordinator, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) for Osun, Ondo and Ekiti, has openly lauded the electorates for a peaceful conduct of elections at the ongoing Osun State gubernatorial election.

Adeyinka had given the commendation announcement during his visit to St. Gabriel Primary School Yemoo, Moore, Ward 3 and 4, Polling Units 003 and 004, on Saturday, in Ile-Ife.

He had also revealed that the voters were calm, cool and easy going in all polling units visited without any problem.

According to him, the voters are well conducted and with no fear of anything whatsoever. The ACG appreciated the electorate for heeding their advice and sensitisation campaign to them.

“In fact, since we have been conducting elections, this 2022 election is a good example of peaceful conduct by the electorate.

“This will repeat itself in the general election, ” he stated.
