General Idris Garba (rtd.) who is a former military governor and administrator of Benue and Kano States, has made an open appeal to Governor Abubakar Bello of Niger State to come to his  assistance and rescue his son, wife and four children who had been abducted during the terrorists’ attack on the Abuja-Kaduna train.

General Garba had spoken through his brother when the governor’s representatives visited his Kaduna home. He noted that he has been traumatised and has been having sleepless nights since his loved ones were abducted.

According to him, “We have been going through lots of nightmares since the incident occurred. The agonising incident is causing sleepless nights to members of the family.”

He pleaded with the Niger state government to do everything possible to rescue the kidnapped family members.

The former governor had also explained that the family members in captivity were his son, Abubakar Idris Garba, his wife, Maryam Bobbo and his four children, Ibrahim, Fatima, Imran and Zainab.

Ahmed Matane, Secretary to the Niger State Government (SSG), who represented the State Governor, assured that the government was doing everything possible to rescue all those in captivity. He urged the families of General Garba and others whose loved ones were abducted to have confidence in the ability of the government.

In another report, Abubakar Sani Bello the Niger State Governor, has given out an open directive to all the security agencies in the Country to expedite action in rescuing the abducted Kaduna-Abuja train attack victims while reiterating that his administration is leaving no stone unturned in arresting the security situation in the State.

The Governor had made this known through the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Ahmed Ibrahim Matane during a sympathy visit to General Idris Garba whose family members had also been kidnapped in the Abuja-Kaduna terrorist train attack.

Idris Garba was the former Governor of Benue and Kano States, and he was also the Chairman of the Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University, Lapai Governing Council.

His son Abubakar Idris Garba, his wife, Maryam Bobbo and his four children were abducted from the train during the incident. The governor lamented the incessant insecurity in the state where several people had been maimed, killed with many others abducted.
