Idris Garba was the former Governor of Benue and Kano States, and he was also the Chairman of the Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University, Lapai Governing Council.

He stated,” we are a responsible government and we shall expedite action in ensuring the safety of all the citizens at all times. We are warning those engaged in the nefarious activities that that government would not condone any act of sabotage or indiscriminate abuse of privilege to jeopardize our fragile security situation in the state”.

On the Abuja -Kaduna train attack by bandits, Bello said the incident marks another sad moment in the fight against terrorism in the country and appealed to the families of Wazirin Lapai and other families whose loved ones were abducted to have confidence in the ability of the government to do all that is needed to be done in rescuing their dear ones.

Responding on behalf of Idirs Garba, a member of the family, Mr. Aliyu Idris Garba told Governor Bello that the painful incident is giving family members sleepless nights while urging the state government to do everything possible to rescue the kidnapped victims.
