The Russian Nation has finally reacted after some Ukrainian forces had launched numerous missiles on the Belgorod, a Russian city.

According to Russia, the missile attack was aimed to provoke Moscow.

The spokesperson for Russia’s Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, said, according to CNN, that “the goal of the Kyiv regime is to strike with unguided weapons at residential areas of cities.”

She said that Ukraine would not have carried out the attacks on its own, adding that the action of Volodymyr Zelensky’s troops were coordinated with its Western curators, who were most likely prompted by them.

“This is being done in order to push us to launch retaliatory strikes of this kind, and then further spin the anti-Russian hysteria,” she added.

While making it clear that Russia would follow the development closely, the spokesperson added that her country has so far refrained from taking such steps of retaliation.

Similarly, Belarus had at the weekend accused Ukraine of firing multiple missiles into its territory, but was thankful to God that its air defense systems neutralised them. Russia had also narrated that Ukraine targeted the city of Belgorod with three Tochka-U missiles and using drones laden with explosives to hit the Russian city of Kursk on Sunday.

Missiles had rained down on Ukraine early Sunday morning killing many civilians and wounding dozens in built-up areas, a development which has prompted President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to accuse Russia of state ‘terror’.

Africa Daily News, New York reports that strikes on a southern resort town had left no fewer than 21 dead and dozens wounded after missiles slammed into flats and a recreation centre in Sergiyvka, 80 kilometres (50 miles) south of Black Sea port Odessa.

Rockets hit residential properties in Solviansk in the heart of the embattled Donbas region, killing a woman in her garden and wounding her husband, a neighbour told reporters late Saturday, describing debris showered across the neighbourhood.

The witness said the strike on Friday was thought to use cluster munitions which spread over a large area before exploding, striking buildings and people who were outdoors.
