Confirming the sad event, Al-Makura noted that the deceased, who hailed from Keffi Local Government Area of Nasarawa state, died after a brief illness.

According to him, she had no record of ailment before departing from Nigeria.“The deceased had no medical history at the time of departure to the Holy Land, and we are together in Medina. Some of the pilgrims took ill two days ago.

“She was first taken to the National Hajj Commission’s Hospital in Makkah and later transferred to the King Abdulaziz Hospital, where she passed on. The family was duly informed of the death.

“We sent the family a video recording of the process of her death confirmation, to the funeral rites and finally, the burial”, he added.

In another report, Bello Mohammed Matawalle who is the Governor of Zamfara State, has openly charged the Zamfara State’s pilgrims who went for the 2022 Hajj to pray fervently for the restoration of peace and tranquillity in all parts of Zamfara State and Nigeria while they were in Saudi Arabia.

Governor Matawalle gave the directive while he was bidding farewell to 1,303 intending pilgrims from the state who will perform this year’s Hajj in the Holy land of Saudi Arabia. He had also reiterated that Zamfara State needed prayers against the menace of insecurity bedevilling it.

He explained that the rising spate of bandits’ activities ravaging the state had gotten to a head and thereby calls for divine intervention and that there was a need for the pilgrims to pray for peace to return in all parts of the state.
