Nyesom Wike, the current Governor of Rivers State, is an example of a man whose quest for power can drive him to do unthinkable and unimaginable things. He is a man who is willing to discard anything noble in favor of selfish and egotistical ambition.

Simply put, Wike, like many Nigerian politicians, lacks honor. The only thing they value is their own selfish ambition, primarily for the purpose of mass exploitation.

You don’t want to read a long description of the politician known as Wike, but it’s important to understand why he made the news.

A few days earlier, Wike fled to Kano to meet with Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, dubbed “the Gandollar” for looting, bribery, and financial misappropriation, for endorsement ahead of the 2023 presidential election. This is the same man he publicly condemned for his (Gandollar’s) leaked video of accepting kick-backs from contractors he awarded as the State Governor and stuffing the dollar wads into his “Babariga”. Wike mocked him and swore that he, along with all APC members, were too corrupt for him to associate with.

Wike’s behavior should come as no surprise to anyone with a rational mind who is familiar with the gimmicks and antics of the average politician. For Wike, he took a stand in June 2020, when he lauded President Muhammadu Buhari and expressed his so-called gratitude to the Nigerian Presidency for approving the sum of 78.9 billion naira for Rivers State as a refund for the amount expended by the Rivers State government on federal projects in the state, which surprised a lot of political observers. This is because Governor Wike is well-known for his various derogatory comments against the opposition (APC),

The Governor’s apparent visit to Kano in search of Gandollar’s support was merely confirmation of his fealty to the Northern Caliphate. On the surface, there appears to be nothing wrong with supporting anyone from any part of Nigeria. While every politician has the right to support anyone they choose, regardless of their tribe or religion, prevaricating like Wike did to his own people in order to gain power is not only foolish, but it’s also disgusting.

Wike’s visit to Kano had already been planned as far back as October, 2020, when he was the first and only governor who openly stood against the crusade to end police brutality in Nigeria, codenamed #Endsars, and during that trying period for the teeming masses of Nigeria who were bent on finding a lasting solution to end police brutality in the country, he issued a statement through his then-Commissioner for Information and Communications, Mr. Paulinus Nsirim, in which he summarily stated:

As a result, all planned protests in support of the #EndSARS Campaign are hereby prohibited.’

All that was required was for Wike to side with President Buhari’s crude and clueless government in the #EndSARS with the hope of being considered as Vice President in 2023 with the support of the Fulani oligarchy. Wike opposed ending police brutality that had left many women widows and maimed and murdered a large number of Nigerian youths. Most preposterous, Wike saw nothing wrong with siding with the government and continuing murdering her citizens via the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS).

Unfortunately, Wike, like other Southern politicians, is still in blissful ignorance and probably selective amnesia about the fact that whatever promise the Fulani oligarchy made to him or whatever relationship he may be deceiving himself about, is nothing but a hoax as far as the Fulani Oligarchy is concerned. Like the Sicilians, the Fulani are notable for their unwillingness to forgive and forget. (They stick to their beliefs without wavering, and oftentimes honor their agreement.) And just like Wike’s former party member, Femi Fani Kayode, who often speaks from both sides of his mouth after making unprintable statements about Buhari, the APC, and the Fulani, Kayode is almost begging for their support for the VP ticket.

If Wike had had any sense in his thick round skull, he would have realized that his visit to Kano was not just a fruitless effort to further his ostensibly presidential ambition, but the start of his woes.

Gandollar stated categorically that “… at the end of it, you would lose.” Gandollar gave him a cynical smile and referred to him as “a good loser.” For a power-hungry man like Wike, whose ambition had obliterated his sense of rationality and observation, it appeared to be difficult for him to see the obvious that Gandollar’s smile was the type of smile a predator displays when his prey is safely in his hands following a long chase.

Congratulations, Gandollar! You have yet again won the Fulani caliphate another southern slave in the person of Onyesom Ezebunwo Wike, son of Nlemanya Wike, a full Igbo who, like his fellow “efulefu” from Igbo land who derived their so-called tribe known as Ikwere following Nigeria’s 1976 state formation, renounced their Igbo heritage as a result of their cowardice to face the challenges in Nigeria for being Igbo.

For Wike, it would be prudent to ensure that you have a spotless financial record, which is hard to believe since there are records privy to some people about your finances. The Nigerian establishment’s running dog, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, will be unleashed on you when you complete your tenure as Governor of Rivers State in 2023, just as they did to your fellow “Efulefu” like Willie Obiano.
